The imagery that we intended to propose is identifiable in the ‘atmosphere’ rather than in ‘monumental architecture’, and it was achieved by averaging colours, lights and materials, and paying attention to the “dialogue” between the works on display and visitors. We believed important the relationships between the heights – eye/subject – suggesting a hierarchy, an order and syntax between works, and between them and the observer. Transparency and mirroring in the windows are a tangible constant: the object and its image, the real and the abstract, the writings, the words of African poetry, are mixed together without disturbance.
In the same year the exhibition was realized at the Casa del Mantegna in Mantua with the title “Wonders and mysteries of ancient Africa. Masterpieces of the national museums of Nigeria”
