The imagination pursued in the project of the new complex welcomes memories and suggestions of the city and the territory, re-interpreting them in a contemporary context. The goal is to build a new urban fabric, mediated between the settlement dimension and the everyday urban life with its residential needs, able to recapture fragments of cities and become the city itself. The project has its roots in an overall vision with the aim of thinking about the settlement as a unicum, an articulated system of places (‘unity in diversity’), formally defined and recognizable with significant “figurative qualities”, appropriately connected, around which the ‘singularities’ of the residences are grafted.
The design of the whole lot settles the landscape architecture and traces a texture of internal connections and with the park fabric. The porch, connecting element and privileged path of the architectural system, which is substantially confirmed with respect to the masterplan’s guidelines, has a founding character and develops ‘structured relationships’ with the court/garden system. The complex of buildings acquires a new ‘urban sense’, that is, the block/insula – ‘concordia partium’ – as a set of reconstructed fragments, continuous fabric, fragment of the city.
