The project comprehensively fulfills to all the functional and technological matters. The project exhaustivly carries out all the functional and technological issues. At the same time it devotes a considerable attention to the imagery of the place, by recalling to memory and metaphor (the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, Cappella Rucellai in Florence, etc.), suggestion, discovery, mystery, wonder, closing/opening , inside/outside, never rhetorical, through which it regains its recognizable contemporary.
The interior of the new tower, an urban ‘landmark’, offers an extraordinary space for the monument, which is visible along an “architectural path”. The light, filtered through the window of onyx, becomes mystical, and the glass cover keeps a virtuous relationship with the Cathedral.
